Human Resources Officer (Training & Development)

About the role

The Human Resources Officer (Training & Development) will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of learning initiatives across the university. This role focuses on building employee capabilities, supporting career growth and enhancing overall performance through structured training and development programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement training programs tailored to departmental and role‑specific needs.
• Conduct training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and prioritize learning interventions.
• Facilitate workshops, seminars and virtual sessions, ensuring engaging and interactive experiences.
• Manage logistics for training events, including scheduling, venue coordination and attendance tracking.
• Evaluate program effectiveness using surveys, assessments and performance metrics, and refine content accordingly.
• Advise employees on career development opportunities and help create individual development plans.
• Collaborate with department heads, subject‑matter experts and external providers to align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
• Prepare regular reports on training activities, outcomes and future plans for senior management.
• Coordinate performance appraisal cycles, monitor completion rates and support KPI and competency framework development.
• Analyze performance data and produce reports to inform management decisions.
• Provide support across various HR functions and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in learning and development or a comparable HR function.
• Proven ability to design and deliver training programs, preferably in a corporate or academic environment.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Analytical mindset with experience assessing training impact and using data‑driven insights.
