General Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join our special‑needs school in Phnom Penh. You will work closely with lead teachers to support children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, ensuring a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and preparation of teaching materials.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students during classroom activities.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
• Support basic education subjects, especially mathematics, through tailored activities.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and support staff to monitor student progress.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Patience, empathy and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with teachers, parents and caregivers.
• Relevant experience or qualification in special education or child development is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic mathematics proficiency.
• Assistant teaching techniques and classroom support.
