Gateway Manager (Logistics Operations)

About the role

The Gateway Manager leads day‑to‑day logistics operations, ensuring freight moves efficiently while meeting profitability and cost‑effectiveness targets. Reporting to senior leadership, the role balances service quality with productivity initiatives across the gateway network.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily volume in line with the operations strategy.
• Arrange freight movement using the most profitable transportation methods.
• Monitor operating plans, allocate resources, and ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory and company policies.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes to maximise productivity.
• Manage the gateway operating budget and propose investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment and systems.
• Coordinate transport and distribution schedules to meet delivery commitments.
• Develop and track KPIs, identify training needs and deliver training sessions.
• Implement gateway facilities, equipment and infrastructure according to regional and local guidelines.
• Lead projects that address regional and network imperatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Law or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of operations experience in a leadership role, preferably within transportation or logistics.
• Fluent English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong leadership, people‑management, negotiation and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and drive high‑performance teams.
