Farm Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Farm Assistant Accountant will support the Farm Manager by maintaining accurate financial records of all farm activities. This position involves handling daily transactions, payroll, and preparing financial reports to ensure smooth financial operations on the farm.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for all farm transactions, including daily income, expenses, and inventory costs.
• Prepare payroll for farm workers and casual laborers, and manage invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
• Monitor farm budgets, control operational costs, and prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile cash, bank statements, and mobile money accounts, and support audits and tax compliance.
• Maintain administrative records such as contracts, attendance, and supplier files.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping, and tax declaration.
• Experience with payroll processing and staff expense management.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with basic accounting software.
