Facility Maintenance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Facility Maintenance Officer to ensure the reliability and safety of critical infrastructure in a data‑center environment. The role combines routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to emergencies across HVAC, electrical, fire‑suppression and low‑voltage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, electrical power distribution, fire‑suppression and ELV (security, CCTV, access control) systems.
• Test and maintain fire‑suppression equipment in line with NFPA standards, monitor fire alarm systems and verify agent levels.
• Install, connect and manage network equipment (routers, switches, patch panels) and perform rack‑level services such as server installation and cable routing.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) and take corrective actions to protect IT equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues, including electrical, mechanical and environmental failures.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning cooling systems and inspecting UPS units.
• Maintain physical security of the data centre by monitoring CCTV, access control systems and following security protocols.
• Document all maintenance activities, incidents and inspections accurately.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in HVAC and electrical power systems.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Facility Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar role in a data‑center or comparable environment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, UPS, PDUs and electrical distribution.
• Familiarity with ELV systems and basic troubleshooting.
