Deputy Head of Laboratory – Environment & Food Safety

About the role

The Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety supports the Head of Laboratory in delivering high‑quality testing services for environmental, food and water safety, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory activities, workflow, inventory, and purchase orders.
• Oversee trainees, update price lists, and participate in internal and external audits.
• Validate test reports, prepare monthly work plans, and manage method development and research projects.
• Ensure equipment verification, control, maintenance, and act as lab head in the Head’s absence.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry or related field.
• Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Fluency in Khmer and English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Food microbiology or food chemistry expertise.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
