Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Phnom Penh. The position focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities, prospecting corporate and individual clients, preparing proposals, and supporting the closing of insurance contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, prospecting corporate and individual clients.
• Prepare proposals and support the closing of insurance contracts.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis and contribute to sales plans.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design suitable insurance solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, respond to inquiries, and provide high‑quality customer service.
• Report regularly on business performance and participate in promotional activities, presentations, and networking events.

Required profile

• Strong new‑business development and customer‑service skills with the ability to build long‑term client relationships.
• Solid analytical skills and basic finance knowledge to assess client needs and support pricing or proposal preparation.
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Khmer and additional languages is a plus.
• Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or a related business‑development/sales role preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work proactively, meet targets, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM systems.
• Experience using sales‑tracking tools.
