Bank Teller Support Officer

About the role

The Bank Teller Support Officer assists branches that lack dedicated tellers, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and operational efficiency. The role combines front‑line cash handling with marketing support to promote the bank’s products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform over‑the‑counter transactions such as account opening, withdrawals, deposits, foreign exchange, internal and international fund transfers.
• Identify and verify currency notes accurately.
• Control and process cheques, including collection, clearing, and reporting of local and inward cheques.
• Support branch marketing activities, cross‑selling bank products alongside tellers and visiting customers outside the branch.
• Maintain daily cash counts in coordination with the Chief Teller and ensure cash balances are reported correctly.
• Refer customers to appropriate staff for new services and promote business growth.
• Assist with staff training and ensure compliance with banking procedures.
• Execute special orders as directed by the Chief Teller or Branch Manager.

Required profile

• Experience in teller operations or cash‑handling environments.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to promote and present banking products.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cash and cheque processing.
