Assistant/Associate Merchandiser (Supply Chain)

About the role

The Assistant/Associate Merchandiser works within the local Supply Chain team, acting as the primary liaison between vendors, inventory, transportation, and forwarder partners. This role ensures smooth order fulfillment, cargo delivery, and vendor communications to support overall business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vendor purchase‑order fulfillment, manage pull‑up/push‑out/cancellation requests, and reduce back‑orders by coordinating closely with the inventory team.
• Track seasonal floor‑set schedules for all brands, record delay exceptions, and analyse PVR/PWR reports to clear long‑pending orders.
• Collaborate with the corporate transportation team to update shipping instructions, enforce logistics policies, and maintain shipping guidelines for new vendor onboarding.
• Monitor and improve vendor KPIs for on‑time cargo delivery, forecast carrier space, and resolve peak‑season space constraints.
• Manage ocean and air forwarders, troubleshoot cargo delivery issues, and drive on‑time delivery performance with the merchant team.
• Measure container utilization, consolidate shipments, expand “Milk Run” loading, and implement cost‑down and inventory‑control projects.
• Ensure forwarder efficiency for international drop shipments, monitor cargo readiness for SPO, and support the merchant team with booking and carrier‑space issues.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for cross‑functional projects, generate volume and OTD reports, and develop global connectivity tools as needed.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive process improvements.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive problem‑solver capable of managing several priorities simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience using Citrix systems for logistics and shipping processes.
