SOC Assistant – Threat Detection & Response

About the role
The SOC Assistant is responsible for threat detection and monitoring using a variety of security tools and platforms. The role ensures SLA compliance for detection and response, investigates security incidents, and escalates unresolved issues to Tier 2 analysts.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and detect abnormal traffic and threat activity using SIEM, SOAR, WAF, firewalls, DNS security, EDR, IRM, MDM, PAM, and other relevant security tools.
- Investigate and analyze security events to determine root cause and impact scope.
- Maintain SLA targets for both detection and response.
- Escalate unresolved incidents to Tier 2 analysts.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EC‑NDE, ISC2‑CC, EC‑EHE, Introduction to Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Essentials) are a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity operations role.
- Understanding of SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
