Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

Amrita FMCG District is seeking an experienced Production Manager to support the setup, commissioning and end‑to‑end operation of a new food manufacturing project. This role will lead the transition from factory setup to stable commercial production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans to meet quality, cost, output and delivery targets.
• Support factory and equipment readiness, including coordination with suppliers, contractors and technical teams.
• Lead production‑line setup, commissioning, trial runs and readiness for commercial production.
• Establish production SOPs, work instructions, performance KPIs and reporting processes.
• Recruit, train and supervise the production team.
• Work closely with QA/QC and maintenance teams to implement food safety, quality and workplace safety requirements.
• Monitor production performance, resolve operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve efficiency, reduce waste and support cost control.
• Provide regular production updates, risks and progress reports to management.

Required profile

• Direct experience in an industrial food‑manufacturing environment.
• Relevant background in processed or packaged food, instant noodles, sauces, seasonings, condiments, dairy, snacks, rice processing or similar factories.
• Experience in factory setup, production‑line commissioning, equipment installation or plant expansion.
• Strong production planning, problem‑solving and team‑management abilities.
• Comfortable working hands‑on with suppliers, contractors and operational teams.
• Able to communicate clearly with management and technical stakeholders.
• Working English is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Good understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
• Knowledge of food hygiene and traceability requirements.
• Experience with quality control processes.
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards.
