Cost Accounting Officer

About the role

The Cost Accounting Officer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling product and production costs. This role provides accurate financial information to support decision‑making in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, and trading environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product cost sheets and standard costing.
• Calculate production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze cost variances and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate valuation.
• Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation and support physical stock counts.
• Prepare monthly cost, gross margin, and profitability reports.
• Review Bills of Materials (BOM) and production data for costing accuracy.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales to improve cost efficiency.
• Provide costing documentation for internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in cost or manufacturing accounting.
• Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, or food processing is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar.
