Consultant for Baseline Early Grade Math Survey – Phase III

About the role

The consultant will lead the Baseline Early Grade Mathematics (EGMA) assessment for the Easy To Learn Phase III project in Kratie. This includes planning the assessment schedule, developing data collection tools, conducting participatory field work, and presenting findings to ChildFund Cambodia and the KAFDOC team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare the baseline assessment schedule and plan in consultation with ChildFund Cambodia and KAFDOC.
• Review secondary data and project documents related to outcome 1.
• Create, pilot, and test data collection tools using EGMA standards.
• Conduct participatory workshops with ChildFund staff, KAFDOC partners, DOE/POE officials, and school staff.
• Submit tools for review, collect data in the field, and ensure proper documentation.
• Analyze, interpret, and present baseline results, providing an English summary in Excel or Word format.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education with knowledge of primary education in Cambodia, including GEDSI considerations.
• Proven experience conducting baseline and end‑line evaluations in early grade math (grades 1‑3).
• Strong understanding of community‑based education concepts, gender, and inclusion.
• Excellent presentation and reporting abilities.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; local language skills are a plus.

• Proficiency in Word for preparing written summaries and reports.
