About the role

BUN & ASSOCIATES is seeking a qualified Associate to join its Labor & Employment Practice Group. The role involves providing comprehensive legal advice on labor matters, drafting key documents, and supporting clients through complex employment issues.

Key responsibilities

• Draft legal opinions, memoranda, pleadings, contracts, and employment policies.
• Review and prepare employment contracts and internal labor regulations.
• Supervise filing of labor‑related applications with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
• Conduct due‑diligence, legal research, and stay updated on relevant legal developments.
• Communicate with clients, manage case timelines, and coordinate with courts and government authorities.
• Prepare fee proposals, budgets, and manage billing processes.
• Participate in business development and firm‑building activities.

Required profile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in law; additional qualifications in a related field or English are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Experience liaising with the Ministry of Labor and employer associations is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.

Required skills

• Fluency in Khmer and English (written and spoken); knowledge of French or Chinese is an asset.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications and legal research tools.
