Paralegal Expert – Remote Contractor

About the role

This hourly, remote contractor position is for a Paralegal Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will review AI‑generated legal support responses and create high‑quality paralegal content. You will evaluate reasoning, accuracy, clarity, and completeness, provide precise written feedback, and rate multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts, document templates, checklists, research summaries, and drafting examples.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses to improve correctness, clarity, formatting, and procedural usefulness.
• Ensure model integrity by testing outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, confidentiality risks, and bias, and validating reliability across legal support use cases.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; certification is a plus.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm, in‑house, or public‑sector setting.
• Strong command of legal support workflows such as intake, fact gathering, document drafting, version control, and matter organization.
• Proven experience with legal research and summarizing authorities (cases, statutes, regulations) clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail, C1‑level English proficiency, and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
