Technical Manager (Construction)

About the role

The Technical Manager will lead the engineering team, providing technical direction across all phases of construction projects. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure design coordination, risk mitigation, and high‑quality delivery on high‑rise, commercial, residential, and institutional buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical team, reviewing architectural, structural, civil, and MEP requirements.
• Assess project drawings, specifications, BOQ and contracts; identify risks and propose engineering solutions.
• Provide on‑site technical support, monitor compliance with approved methods, and participate in inspections and technical meetings.
• Review and evaluate design changes for construction impact.
• Support tender preparation, cost estimation, and develop technical proposals and alternative construction methods.
• Coordinate with the QS/Commercial team on cost‑related technical matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, MEP Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of construction/project experience, preferably in building construction.
• 3–5 years in a technical management or senior engineering role.
• Experience with high‑rise, commercial, residential, schools or hotel projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, QA/QC procedures, contract documents and technical specifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with MS Project.
• Competence in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Revit/BIM.
• Knowledge of Navisworks (advantage).
