Senior Officer, Research and Development

About the role

The Senior Officer, Research and Development will lead food product research, development and improvement initiatives to deliver safe, high‑quality, cost‑effective innovations that satisfy consumer expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new food products and formulations meeting target taste, texture, appearance, nutrition, shelf life, cost and consumer acceptance.
• Formulate recipes and ingredient combinations to ensure consistent product quality and specifications.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing to verify consumer acceptance and identify improvement areas.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to enhance product quality, productivity, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain technical documentation, formulation records, specifications and trial reports for traceability and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve customer issues, perform root‑cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Agro‑Industry or related field (Master’s or Doctorate preferred).
• At least 2 years of work or research experience in a related area.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability and result‑orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow compliance procedures.

Required skills

• Food product formulation knowledge.
• Food packaging and production expertise.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, GMP and HACCP standards.
• Good command of English, both oral and written.
