Discipline Officer

About the role

The Discipline Officer is a full‑time, on‑site position at Western International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The role focuses on monitoring student behavior, enforcing school policies, and fostering a safe, respectful learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise students in common areas and during school events.
• Address disciplinary incidents promptly and fairly.
• Document behavior concerns and prepare incident reports.
• Coordinate corrective actions with school leadership.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement behavioral guidelines.
• Support character‑education programs and communicate expectations to students and families.
• Participate in staff meetings, contribute to policy development, and assist with school events to ensure orderly conduct.

Required profile

• Strong skills in student supervision, behavior management, and conflict resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities in a multicultural setting.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and follow structured disciplinary procedures.
• Professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in handling sensitive situations.
• Experience in a school or youth‑focused environment (teaching, counseling, or student services) is highly beneficial.
• Fluency in English; Khmer or another language is an advantage.
• Minimum high school diploma; a diploma or degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in Phnom Penh and adapt to an international, bilingual school environment.
