System Engineer – Linux & Unix Administration

About the role

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our IT team and take ownership of Linux and Unix environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our infrastructure while supporting development and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure hardware and software components.
• Monitor system availability and performance, responding to incidents.
• Perform regular system backups and maintain recovery procedures.
• Document server configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Provide technical support to internal users and development teams.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Strong ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and self‑motivation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Unix and Linux system administration.
• Scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience with NoSQL databases, caching, and data warehousing.
• Linux container technologies.
• Management of standard Linux services.
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery concepts.
• Source code repository configuration and management.
• Automation tools such as Chef and Ansible.
