Specialist, Sourcing Operations – Apparel Equipment & Packs

About the role

You will act as the primary on‑site liaison for a portfolio of factories, monitoring end‑to‑end production activities to ensure they meet VF’s quality standards, timelines and operational expectations. The role involves frequent travel to factory sites and requires a results‑driven mindset with strong production and technical knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Support risk assessment and pre‑production meetings by gathering data, identifying risks and recommending actions.
• Drive factory adherence to SOPs and product specifications during mass production, tracking core KPIs and escalating issues.
• Resolve daily production issues such as material delays or low output in collaboration with VF functions and factory partners.
• Validate factory production schedules to achieve on‑time performance (OTP) targets and make real‑time line‑balancing decisions.
• Supervise start‑up of high‑risk styles to ensure quality, aesthetics and performance standards.
• Verify completion of social and environmental compliance corrective actions and support VF sustainability programs (e.g., Higg Index, WCD, LABS).
• Provide on‑ground support for automation adoption, process changes and prepare production reports for management.
• Assist QA in root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action plan reviews.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the apparel equipment and packs product category, including manufacturing processes, materials and construction methods.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with factory teams and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and a growth‑mindset attitude.
• Experience in product development or technical roles is an advantage.
