Senior System Administration Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior System Administration Officer to lead the operation and maintenance of our data centre and recovery site at the Head Office in Phnom Penh. The role involves designing, installing and managing server, storage and virtualization environments while ensuring high availability and compliance with risk‑management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor data‑centre production and disaster‑recovery site.
• Design, install and configure server hardware and operating systems (Solaris, Linux, Windows).
• Implement and maintain virtualization platforms including OpenShift (OCP) and VMware solutions.
• Administer Office 365 and on‑premise email systems.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines and IT software in a flexible manner.
• Design, install and configure storage systems and SAN switches (FC, zoning) for optimal efficiency.
• Monitor performance, conduct analyses and ensure system reliability.
• Oversee data‑centre infrastructure such as UPS, fire detection and cooling systems.
• Perform IT risk assessments and conduct failover/switch‑over testing.
• Research technology trends and propose appropriate solutions.
• Maintain documentation and perform hardware/software upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, MIS or related field.
• Experience in a 24/7 banking or mission‑critical environment with system troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of enterprise data‑centre facilities and infrastructure.
• Strong background in server hardware installation, maintenance and diagnostics for Intel and Unix platforms.
• Experience with storage systems, SAN switches, FC and zoning.
• Proficiency in installing and managing operating systems (Solaris, Linux, Windows) and virtualization (VMware, ESXi, vSphere, LDOM, Oracle VM).
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, SharePoint, SCCM.
• Familiarity with Office 365, Azure AD and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of UPS, cooling and fire safety systems.
• Ability to assess IT risks and conduct failover testing.
• Good written and spoken English.
