Senior Database Operation Officer

About the role

The Senior Database Operation Officer will lead the bank's application, database and system management function. This senior position oversees development, implementation and ongoing support of critical banking applications and Oracle databases, ensuring security, reliability and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design, development and rollout of new applications, databases and systems.
• Lead a support team, set performance goals and monitor achievement.
• Maintain and secure Oracle production and non‑production databases, including schema creation, alteration, deletion and object management.
• Perform backup, recovery, parameter configuration and manage Oracle Secure Backup and an additional backup system.
• Monitor database health, resource utilization, alert logs and data synchronization; troubleshoot Oracle‑related issues.
• Collaborate with business, operations and vendor partners to meet application and system needs.
• Develop policies, procedures and strategies to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Manage Talend Studio job execution, monitoring and issue resolution.
• Document all system changes and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Extensive experience managing Oracle databases in a banking or financial environment.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate with cross‑functional departments.

• SQL scripting, schema design, stored procedures, triggers and indexes.
