Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the Accounts Receivable (AR) team and the Cashier, ensuring accurate and timely processing of tuition and other customer payments. This role supports the Head of Finance & Procurement with reporting, compliance, and analysis while maintaining strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise AR Officers and Cashier, overseeing daily recording, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Monitor tuition fee collections, prepare aging reports, and develop collection strategies.
• Reconcile student/customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Prepare monthly AR and collection reports, including aging, outstanding balances, and cash collection summaries.
• Ensure compliance with CIFRS/IFRS, Cambodian tax regulations, and internal control procedures.
• Collaborate with the Finance Controller on segregation of duties, tax declarations, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closings, and assist in management and CEO reporting.
• Mentor and coach AR staff to strengthen capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of AR and cash‑management processes.
• Familiarity with CIFRS/IFRS and Cambodian tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or ERP platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities.
