Ruby Engineer

About the role

SME Careers is looking for an hourly‑paid, fully remote Ruby Engineer to help improve AI models by reviewing and generating Ruby and Rails code. You will evaluate code quality, provide detailed feedback, and ensure AI responses are accurate, logical, and well‑explained.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts and model answers across diverse topics.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating, ranking, and refining AI‑generated code responses.
• Ensure model integrity by testing for inaccuracies or biases and validating reliability across use cases.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years of professional Ruby programming experience in production environments.
• Strong understanding of Ruby on Rails, MVC architecture, and idiomatic Ruby patterns.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Ruby/Rails applications under real‑world constraints.
• Ability to assess readability, maintainability, and logical correctness of code.
• Significant experience using LLMs or AI coding assistants with a disciplined validation approach.
• Excellent English writing skills for clear technical explanations and code reviews.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Preferred experience with AI data training, large‑scale code review, or evaluation of AI‑generated content.
