Mortgage Loan Officer

About the role

The Mortgage Loan Officer will evaluate and process mortgage applications for both individual and corporate clients, ensuring compliance with the bank’s lending policies and maintaining high loan quality. Working from the Phnom Penh branch, you will guide clients through the loan process, from document collection to loan disbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the mortgage client portfolio in line with branch policies.
• Collect, verify and compile all required documentation, including credit histories and financial statements.
• Conduct credit investigations, property evaluations and repayment capacity analyses to assess loan feasibility.
• Perform site visits to validate loan purpose, collateral condition and customer security.
• Prepare loan contracts, arrange timely disbursements and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Explain loan products, interest rates and terms to clients and support cross‑selling initiatives.
• Monitor existing loans through regular visits, identify potential downgrades and manage delinquent accounts in coordination with supervisors.
• Register title deeds with local authorities and handle any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in mortgage lending, banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of loan policies, credit risk management and property evaluation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Fluency in Khmer and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to use the bank’s internal software for loan processing.
