Key Account Manager

About the role

The Key Account Manager will identify and develop revenue opportunities, drive sales activities, manage key customer relationships, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer requirements and shipment commitments are met effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Identify revenue opportunities and develop measures to exploit them across relevant segments.
• Drive sales promotion activities based on defined action plans.
• Conduct weekly market research, identify potential sales opportunities, and evaluate customer needs.
• Develop sales strategies aligned with organisational goals and business plan to drive revenue growth.
• Lead and support the sales team, providing engagement, motivation, coaching, and leadership to deliver excellent customer service.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development through contract negotiation, closure, and cash collection for assigned client accounts.
• Initiate long‑term payment protection using bank guarantees or deposits where required.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors, partner airlines, trucking companies, ground handlers, freight forwarders, GSAs, CSAs, and other service providers.
• Oversee cargo reservations, capacity assessments, bookings, and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare and maintain rate sheets, commercial databases, and sales reports accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client requirements and compliance with company policies.
