IT Monitoring Engineer

About the role

The IT Monitoring Engineer will proactively monitor and troubleshoot the bank's IT infrastructure and services. This role acts as a central communication coordinator during incidents, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise monitoring systems, prioritising critical alerts.
• Perform initial alarm analysis, restore services where possible, and provide first‑level support.
• Notify management and relevant business units during outages and keep them updated.
• Troubleshoot incidents, coordinate with teams or vendors, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Review performance of IT infrastructure devices to prevent unexpected outages.
• Manage incident tickets from creation to closure within SLA.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, diagrams, and guidelines for IT infrastructure.
• Hand over and take over shift duties clearly indicating completed and pending tasks.
• Communicate with all departments about issues affecting operations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on service availability.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in IT monitoring and troubleshooting, preferably in banking or telecom.
• Ability to work 24/7 shift rotations, including weekends and public holidays.
• Proficiency in both Khmer and English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, proactive attitude, and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, CheckMK, Nagios, or Cacti.
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux administration.
• Knowledge of networking concepts: IP protocol, subnetting, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN, DPLC, MPLS, switching, and routing protocols.
• Basic understanding of database structures.
• Familiarity with data‑center environments, VMware, cooling systems, power supply, and backup generators.
