Database Administration Engineer

About the role

We are a growing technology company seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Database Administration Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimise our database systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data integrity, performance, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems such as Oracle, MySQL and SQL Server.
• Monitor database performance, ensure high availability and reliability, and perform tuning, optimisation and capacity planning.
• Manage backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Ensure data security, integrity and compliance with policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly.
• Support development teams with database design and query optimisation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of database systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience in database administration or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
• Experience with performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS, Azure or GCP) is a plus.
• Understanding of data security best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
