Commercial Supervisor – Grocery (Retail)

About the role

The Commercial Supervisor will drive the commercial performance of the Grocery category across our retail business. You will be responsible for sales growth, margin improvement, assortment optimisation, pricing, promotions and supplier collaboration to meet sales, profitability and customer satisfaction targets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales, gross margin, volume and stock turnover for the Grocery category.
• Analyse performance data, identify growth opportunities and recommend actions to improve sales and profitability.
• Manage the product assortment, recommend new items, delist under‑performing SKUs and support private‑label development.
• Set and adjust selling prices, design promotional plans and ensure correct implementation across stores.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate commercial terms and monitor supplier performance.
• Work with purchasing, supply chain and store teams to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce out‑of‑stock rates and minimise expiry or shrinkage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial or sales management within the grocery or retail sector.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and margin data.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, working with merchandising, marketing, finance and operations teams.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial agreements.
