Bamboo Craftsman

About the role

Kiri Bamboo is seeking a dedicated Bamboo Craftsman to join its on‑site team in Tonle Bassak. You will work hands‑on to create, assemble, and maintain bamboo‑based structures, contributing to sustainable building projects that benefit local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, shape, join and finish bamboo and wood components according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and construction plans.
• Measure, mark and prepare materials using hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with teammates to prototype new products and improve construction techniques.
• Perform repairs, maintenance and quality inspections on existing installations.
• Assist with on‑site installations and help organise workshop space and materials.

Required profile

• Local candidate with strong carpentry experience.
• Ability to work safely with hand and power tools in a workshop or construction environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality, precise workmanship.
• Physical capability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.
• Interest in environmentally sustainable building practices.
• Willingness to learn specialised bamboo construction methods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers, etc.).
• Proficiency with power tools (drills, circular saws, sanders, etc.).
• Measuring, cutting, joining and finishing techniques.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of bamboo construction techniques (or readiness to acquire it).
