Assistant Fleet Manager

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily fleet operations (vehicle dispatch, scheduling, routing)
• Manage trucking system, GPS
• Ensure trucks are assigned efficiently based on operational needs
• Monitor truck usage and report irregularities
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules
• Follow up on vehicle repairs with workshops/service providers
• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards
• Maintain maintenance records and service history
• Support supervision of drivers’ performance and discipline
• Provide basic training or orientation on fleet procedures when needed
• Monitor fuel consumption and fleet‑related expenses
• Support budget control and cost reduction initiatives
• Ensure all vehicles have valid registrations, insurance, and permits
• Assist in implementing road safety and compliance standards
• Report accidents, incidents, and follow up on investigations
• Assist in procurement of spare parts, fuel cards, and fleet‑related services
• Support audits and internal/external reporting requirements
• Perform other tasks assigned by the manager

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in fleet, transport, or logistics operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
