AP/Inventory Officer

About the role

The AP/Inventory Officer is responsible for managing the flow of inventory-related financial transactions, ensuring accurate recording, verification, and reconciliation of supplier bills, stock movements, and inventory variances. This role supports month‑end and year‑end closing processes and collaborates closely with accounts payable and receivable teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify supporting documents and approvals before posting transactions.
• Record supplier bills upon inventory receipt, billing, transfers, and related activities in the accounting system.
• Monitor stock movement and cost, reconciling daily stock count reports with accounting records and investigating discrepancies.
• Adjust stock variance, expired, damaged, or obsolete items in the system according to accounting policy.
• Ensure proper documentation for all inventory records.
• Reconcile supplier statements and AP balances, working with the AR officer to consolidate balances due to/from suppliers.
• Participate in physical stock counts for internal control purposes.
• Support month‑end, year‑end closing, and audit requirements while maintaining compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Revenue Accounting, or related finance functions.
• Retail accounting experience preferred, especially with mart inventory accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good knowledge of Cambodian tax regulations is a plus.
• Effective cross‑department communication and solution‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using an accounting system (any).
