Actuarial Assistant Manager

About the role

The Actuarial Assistant Manager will support the Senior Actuarial Manager in delivering regular actuarial reporting, driving reporting‑pipeline improvements and providing analytical insights for strategic initiatives. The role also includes mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Own the production and analysis of regular actuarial reports covering reserve, solvency, embedded value, operating profit (OPAT), value of new business, reinsurance and persistency.
• Prepare quarterly/monthly management reports, reinsurance administration, yearly business plans, experience studies and liaise with regulators and auditors.
• Lead the “Reporting pipeline improvement” project: design an Azure SQL Server database, automate calculations with Python and T‑SQL, and build Power BI dashboards to replace Excel‑based reporting.
• Provide actuarial support for ad‑hoc strategic projects across distribution channels.
• Manage and train two junior team members on programming, actuarial concepts and work standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership and responsibility.
