Accounting & Tax Officer

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting & Tax Officer to join our accounting firm and support a portfolio of clients with accurate financial reporting and tax compliance. The role involves preparing statements, managing transactions, and providing tax advice in line with Cambodian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely financial statements and monthly tax reports for assigned clients.
• Record and manage accounting transactions using Xero or similar software.
• Process payment vouchers, post entries, and perform reconciliations.
• Maintain organized financial records and files for each client.
• Conduct monthly transaction reviews and calculate taxes in compliance with Cambodian tax law.
• Liaise with the General Department of Taxation and other government agencies as required.
• Provide accounting and tax consultation to clients, ensuring adherence to current regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and report to the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Cambodian tax law.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently, manage time under pressure, and take ownership of responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word
• Experience with Xero accounting software
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or other ERP tools
