Supervisor, Market & Business Intelligence (Local Hire Only)

About the role

The Supervisor, Market & Business Intelligence is responsible for collecting, analysing and interpreting market, customer and business performance data to support strategic and operational decisions within a supermarket environment. The role prepares regular reports and dashboards, identifies trends and growth opportunities, and delivers actionable insights to merchandising, marketing and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and interpret market, customer and business performance data.
• Prepare regular reports and interactive dashboards for stakeholders.
• Identify trends, growth opportunities and provide actionable insights to merchandising, marketing and operations.
• Monitor competitor activities and evaluate pricing and product performance.
• Coordinate cross‑functional data and analytics projects and support management with ad‑hoc analyses.
• Guide junior team members, ensure data quality and develop standards and best practices for market and business intelligence.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and quantitative problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for presenting complex information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Knowledge of retail finance principles such as sales performance, margins and budgeting.
• Understanding of customer service concepts and retail customer behaviour.
• Project management experience for planning and delivering insight‑related initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Finance or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or a data‑driven environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with business intelligence or reporting software.
