Store Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an energetic Store Supervisor to launch and run the day‑to‑day operations of a new boutique. You will work closely with the business owner to establish SOPs, shape the store layout, and build a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement opening/closing checklists, cash‑handling policies and SOPs; troubleshoot POS and retail tech.
• Recruit, onboard and train the founding sales team, set daily tasks, manage shift schedules and lead brief huddles.
• Organise stockrooms, visual merchandising, and store layouts; oversee inventory intake, cycle counts and re‑ordering.
• Act as the brand’s face on the floor, resolve customer issues, gather feedback and translate insights into buying decisions.
• Secure the store after hours, manage cash drops and ensure accurate daily sales reporting while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Required profile

• 2–3 years retail experience, at least 1 year in a supervisory or key‑holder role, preferably in an independent boutique or startup.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Strong interpersonal communication, able to motivate a team and engage customers.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and work flexible weekends.

Required skills

• Comfortable configuring iPad‑based POS systems such as Shopify POS, Square or Lightspeed.
• Experience with inventory management apps and basic spreadsheet tools.
