Sous Chef

About the role

RiverLight is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join its Phnom Penh kitchen team. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality dining experiences through effective kitchen management and culinary creativity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and quality control.
• Supervise and schedule kitchen staff, provide training on standards, safety, and hygiene.
• Manage inventory, support ordering, and ensure proper stock rotation to control waste and costs.
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house teams to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role.
• Strong culinary background with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu execution.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, and ability to enforce them.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
