Senior Retail Accountant – Retail Mart

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Retail Accountant to supervise and review the daily activities of the Retail Mart team, ensuring accurate accounting of stock, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The role involves overseeing financial processes, compliance, and supporting audits within a retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review daily Retail Mart activities, including stock, AR, and AP.
• Review accounting transactions and journal entries for sales, collections, bank deposits, and Cost of Goods Sold.
• Monitor revenue recognition, sales adjustments, rebates, discounts, and promotional transactions.
• Oversee supplier balances, franchise-related charges, royalty fees, marketing fees, and revenue‑sharing calculations.
• Review supplier invoices, inventory receipts, transfers, returns, and stock adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor inventory movements, variances, damaged, expired, and obsolete items, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
• Validate inventory valuation and COGS calculations and reconcile them within accounting records.
• Coordinate with store operations and the franchisor on financial matters.
• Prepare AP/AP aging reports, inventory reports, and supporting schedules for month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, franchise agreements, and Cambodian tax regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and inventory accounting.
• Good knowledge of Cambodian tax regulations (preferred).
• Ability to communicate across departments and provide solution‑based guidance.
• Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Experience managing retail business operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel for reporting and reconciliation.
