Senior Retail Accountant – Phnom Penh

About the role

The company is seeking a Senior Retail Accountant to lead the accounting function for its retail mart operations in Phnom Penh. You will supervise daily accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review daily activities of the Retail Mart team, including stock, AR, and AP.
• Review accounting transactions, journal entries, and related reconciliations for sales, collections, bank deposits, and COGS.
• Monitor revenue recognition, sales adjustments, rebates, discounts, and promotional transactions.
• Oversee supplier balances, franchise charges, royalty and marketing fees, and revenue‑sharing calculations.
• Validate supplier invoices, inventory receipts, transfers, returns, and stock adjustments.
• Track inventory movements, variances, damaged, expired, and obsolete items, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
• Review inventory valuation and COGS calculations, ensuring timely reconciliation.
• Prepare AP/AP aging, inventory reports, and supporting schedules for month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, franchise agreements, and Cambodian tax regulations.
• Support audits and develop accounting procedures and workflow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and inventory accounting.
• Familiarity with Cambodian tax regulations (preferred).
• Detail‑oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
