Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing construction project costs and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery within budget while maximizing value.

Key responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Planning: Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, conduct quantity take‑offs, and calculate material, labour and plant costs.
• Tendering & Procurement: Prepare tender documents, Bills of Quantities and secure competitive bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor project finances, track variations and prepare regular Cost Value Reconciliation reports.
• Contract Administration: Negotiate contracts, draft agreements, certify subcontractor valuations and approve progress payments.
• Risk Management: Perform value engineering to identify cost‑saving opportunities and assist with contractual disputes or claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation and contract administration, preferably on residential, commercial or mixed‑use projects.

Required skills

• Strong mathematical and data analysis abilities.
• Proficiency with estimating software and project management tools.
