Senior Financial Accounting Officer – Retail

About the role

The Senior Financial Accounting Officer will oversee daily financial and accounting operations for a retail business, ensuring accurate records, supporting month‑end closing, tax compliance and internal control improvements. The role also guides junior staff and provides timely reporting and analysis to aid management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily sales reconciliation for convenience store transactions, verifying POS, cash and bank records.
• Assist in preparing and recording supplier promotion rebate details with supporting documentation.
• Collect and compile data for Consignment Sale Reports, ensuring accuracy before submission.
• Report discrepancies in sales, deposits or supplier rebate claims to the AR Supervisor.
• Maintain organized AR files, supporting documents and reconciliation records.
• Coordinate with store teams, procurement and finance staff to gather required information.
• Support month‑end closing activities, including reconciliation tasks and sales summary preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CAT, CPA a plus.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, including general accounting, reporting and tax.
• Retail experience preferred, especially in sales reconciliation, POS transactions, cash handling, supplier rebates and consignment reporting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
