Senior Core Banking API & Development Officer

About the role

The Senior Core Banking API & Development Officer will support the Unit Manager in planning and overseeing the core banking team. This position focuses on designing, maintaining, and expanding web‑services and APIs that power the bank’s core systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Unit Manager in creating activity plans for the team.
• Analyse system requirements, perform impact analysis and propose solutions.
• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot existing web‑services, gateways and APIs.
• Lead the development of new web‑services and APIs for emerging business needs.
• Enhance the core banking platform using Oracle FlexCube development workbench.
• Define integration standards and coordinate with third‑party systems and consulting teams.
• Document API specifications, audit logs and user access controls.
• Ensure high security, availability and 24/7 operation of all services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing API‑centric core banking systems.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, micro‑finance and banking operations.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Required skills

• REST and SOAP API design and implementation.
• Web services and system integration expertise.
• Proficiency with XML, JSON, JavaScript, Java and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle Database, PostgreSQL and Red Hat Linux.
• Knowledge of enterprise service‑bus platforms such as WSO2.
• Familiarity with Oracle FlexCube and its development workbench.
