Senior Business Development Manager

About the role

Nexus for Development is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to expand demand and partnership pipelines for its Carbon Finance team. The role will own the end‑to‑end process of sourcing new implementation partners, grant and co‑investment capital, buyers and compliance sales channels across Southeast Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Own inbound lead triage, qualification and pipeline tracking, reporting weighted value to senior leadership.
• Identify, qualify and submit RfPs, tenders and grant proposals, assembling bid packs from opportunity scanning to submission.
• Source and cultivate strategic implementation partners (NGOs, social enterprises, corporates) and prepare project financial models, term sheets and contract negotiations.
• Drive new buyer prospecting, develop buyer‑facing collateral and lead compliance‑tier sales (CORSIA, Article 6, domestic schemes).
• Source co‑investment capital, support investor due diligence, maintain data rooms and monitor pre‑financing covenants.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years business development/origination experience in carbon markets or related climate‑finance sectors.
• Established, activatable network of carbon credit buyers, intermediaries or project partners.
• Proven track record of acquiring new clients and converting them into transactions or partnerships.
• Working knowledge of compliance carbon demand (CORSIA, Article 6, Asian domestic pricing schemes).
• Strong commercial judgement, financial literacy and ability to draft project financial models.
