Senior Accounting Consultant

About the role

The Senior Accountant delivers accounting services to assigned clients, keeping financial records accurate, preparing financial reports, supporting tax compliance and supervising junior accounting staff. The role needs strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to manage client assignments with limited supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review accounting transactions: general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank and account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals and prepayments, and fixed asset accounting.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports, management accounts and supporting schedules, and ensure compliance with CIFRS for SMEs.
• Carry out analytical reviews, identify unusual transactions or variances and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Manage assigned tasks and deadlines, communicate with clients about their requirements, escalate complex issues to the Assistant Manager/Manager and keep work properly documented.
• Review workpapers for accuracy before submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; experience in an accounting firm, outsourcing or professional services firm preferred.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, SAP or Oracle.
• Good Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, deadline management and client service skills.
