Junior Accountant

About the role

We are a professional services firm in Phnom Penh using our own cloud platform for bookkeeping. The Junior Accountant will handle daily bookkeeping tasks under the supervision of a senior accountant, learning our internal finance platform and ensuring data accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Record journal entries daily in our internal platform from the documents provided, ensuring each entry is accurate and complete.
• Scan, name, and file source documents such as invoices, receipts, and bank slips, then attach them to the corresponding entries for easy retrieval.
• Chase missing documents or signatures when required and report back promptly if they cannot be obtained.
• Support month‑close activities by pulling numbers and reports as requested by senior accountants, following the specified format.
• Flag any irregularities or potential errors before entering data, rather than relying on later review.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Meticulous data‑entry skills with a habit of double‑checking work before submission.
• Willingness to ask questions whenever unsure, preferring clarification over guessing.
• Proficiency in Khmer for handling local documents and sufficient written English to follow instructions and report clearly.
• Comfort using cloud‑based tools such as accounting systems, shared storage, task trackers, and chat applications.
