Fixed Asset Officer

About the role

The Fixed Asset Officer is responsible for maintaining an accurate Fixed Asset Register and supporting the finance team with asset‑related processes. You will ensure that all asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals and depreciation are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, assigning asset codes or tags to new assets.
• Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, write‑offs and adjustments in the accounting or asset management system.
• Coordinate and conduct periodic physical verification of assets.
• Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
• Support depreciation schedule calculations and reviews.
• Maintain supporting documentation for all asset transactions.
• Prepare regular asset reports for management, audit and budgeting.
• Assist internal and external auditors with asset schedules and documentation.
• Monitor asset movements and ensure proper authorization.
• Recommend improvements to asset controls and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in fixed‑asset management, accounting, inventory control or a similar role.
• Knowledge of fixed‑asset procedures, tagging, verification and documentation control.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, depreciation and internal controls.
