Core Banking Development Engineer

About the role

The Core Banking Development Engineer leads strategic development and enhancement of the bank's Core Banking System, delivering new features, modules, and ensuring system alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and development activities, creating short‑ and long‑term plans that support business objectives.
• Conduct analyses of business needs, implement parameterisation, and oversee regular system updates.
• Design and develop new branches, products, features, and modules in the Core Banking System.
• Coordinate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity testing, providing detailed compliance reports.
• Identify, analyse, and resolve user or system problems, working with vendors for bug fixes and root‑cause analysis.
• Support system upgrades, new feature implementations, and apply necessary patches.
• Review vendor contracts and assist in negotiations to ensure cost‑effective services.
• Ensure application support meets target availability, tracking and swiftly resolving issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience in an agile environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and ITIL processes.
• Excellent analytical, technical, written and communication skills.
