Collections Specialist – Loan Recovery Officer

About the role

UMG Cambodia is looking for an assertive, detail‑oriented Collections Specialist to manage past‑due client accounts across heavy equipment, commercial vehicle, and industrial equipment sectors. You will monitor receivables, conduct outreach and field visits, negotiate repayment plans, and protect company assets while maintaining professional client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor aging reports, identify high‑risk balances and prioritize recovery actions.
• Contact delinquent clients via phone, email and on‑site visits to discuss overdue balances and negotiate repayment schedules.
• Conduct field inspections and skip‑tracing to locate debtors, verify equipment status and assess operational capabilities.
• Coordinate legal escalation or asset repossession with counsel and internal management in compliance with local regulations.
• Maintain accurate account logs, record client commitments and produce weekly/monthly recovery performance reports.
• Collaborate with sales, after‑sales and billing teams to resolve invoicing disputes affecting payment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–4+ years of proven experience in debt collection, loan recovery, credit control or accounts receivable, preferably in commercial vehicles, heavy machinery, micro‑finance or banking in Cambodia.
• Fluent in Khmer and professional working proficiency in English.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field visits across provinces.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo or similar financial software.
