Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

About the role

DP World is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in freight forwarding services from its Phnom Penh office. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, building strong relationships with Beneficial Cargo Owners, and delivering tailored logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets set by DP World and actively generate new business opportunities.
• Identify and prospect potential customers through market research, cold calling, email campaigns, networking events, and referrals.
• Create and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals.
• Build and maintain relationships with Beneficial Cargo Owners, understanding their needs and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to secure profitable agreements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as operations and customer service to ensure successful contract execution.
• Stay informed on logistics industry trends, competitive services, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification with at least 5 years of sales/business development experience in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Proven knowledge of the freight forwarding industry and trade finance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong negotiation, consultative selling, and relationship‑management abilities.
• Results‑driven, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Organised, methodical, and capable of handling pressure and multiple priorities.
