Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deliver, maintain, and improve business applications as part of a collaborative team. The role spans the entire software development lifecycle and supports both local and regional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, unit‑test and integrate new features and functionality as defined by the Product Owner and team.
• Apply creative problem‑solving to bring software designs to life and build apps, APIs, and data solutions.
• Promote agile principles, participate in ideation sessions, and perform investigative spikes to mitigate technical risk.
• Assist in developing automated test harnesses, update progress daily via Jira or Kanban, and ensure required documentation is completed.
• Participate in weekly Look Ahead meetings to help refine the product backlog and provide initial estimates.
• Apply disciplined coding practices, support implementation of various projects, and work with local and regional teams to deliver solutions.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of backend development experience with Spring Boot.
• BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical vision.
• Collaborative attitude, willingness to coach teammates and participate in code reviews.
• Continuous learning mindset, learning from both success and failure.
